Coastal Sand Dune

This ever changing, Maroni Beach sand dune in Wellfleet, MA, sits on the top of a small ridge which is located beyond the reach of the tides.  They are delicate ecosystems held together by loose sand.  There are small dunes and tall dunes which have all been formed by shifting wind directions.  Some dunes are covered with vegetation that has been planted in an attempt to minimize sand migration.  This small, original 8 x 10 inch acrylic, "Coastal Sand Dune" at Maroni Beach, Welfleet, MA is by M.
